Our work on virtual representations of health was presented by Dr. Andreas Schmeil at the 2014 Persuasive Technology conference in Padova Italy in May 2014.

The talk entitled: “An Empirical Comparison of Variations of a Virtual Representation of an Individual’s Health” showed our work comparing the effects of four different variations of a virtual representation of health (VRH) on an individual’s motivation and intention to improve their health behavior. We aimed to understand how the approach of a 3D virtual character can be most effective for positively influencing an individual’s motivation and intention to engage in a healthier diet and more physical activity.
